Our Mission

University Advising and Exploratory Studies strives to provide quality advising services to undergraduate students to assist with major selection, career awareness, academic success, and personal enrichment.

Engagement

University Advising and Exploratory Studies supports the mission of NC State University and its commitment to a diverse community. For that reason, we encourage our students to engage and collaborate with faculty, staff, and peers who have different lived experiences. We believe that by doing so our students will develop the skills to be well-rounded leaders in an ever-changing global market.

Our program provides avenues for students to learn, grow, and think critically about evolving issues, their impact on campus experiences and life after graduation. These avenues include educational programming, teaching and personalized advising.

We also provide professional development for our staff to support varied student needs, following best practices in higher education.

Staff Commitment

We are committed to holistic personal and professional growth. Each year, our advising staff works to create an engaging and collaborative classroom experience in our University Success Courses (USC 101, USC 102, and USC 201). We strive to support the whole students as they navigate campus, explore academic pathways, engage with community and embrace their future.
