Community Service

Engaging in service opportunities allows you to:

  • Understand issues in your community
  • Learn through first-hand experience how some people in your community live
  • Gain an understanding and compassion for a diverse group of people
  • Network with others
  • Gain experience employers are looking for and that you can share in your resume or interviews

No matter your interests, there are service opportunities for you, many through student organizations right here on campus

  • Health-related community service (Dance Marathon, Engineering World Health, Global Dental or Medical Brigades, Be the Match)
  • Food insecurity (Feed the Pack Food Pantry, Challah for Hunger, Food Recovery Network)
  • Youth mentoring (Big Brother Big Sisters, Camp Kesom, College Mentors for Kids)
  • Human rights (Habitat for Humanity, Nourish International, Special Smiles, Child Rights and You, Students for Immigrant Rights)
  • Academics (Pencils of Promise, Amandla, Musical Empowerment)
  • Environmental (Roots and Shoots, Wine to Water, WolfPack Environmental Student Association, Ducks Unlimited)

Many student organizations participate in community service – you can find something that interests you on the Student Involvement website.
