ASC Drop-In Advising

The Academic Success Center (ASC) provides drop-in academic advising for currently enrolled NC State undergraduate students to address general advising questions. ASC Drop-In Advising is not meant to replace a student’s assigned academic advisor.

Please note that ASC Drop-In advisors cannot release a student’s advising hold on MyPack for class registration and enrollment.

Following current NC State COVID-19 policy, masks are required when in D.H. Hill Library and when meeting with the ASC Drop-in Advisor.

  • Tuesday 4 to 6 p.m. ET
  • Wednesday 4 to 6 p.m. ET

Due to high demand, advising sessions may be limited to 15 minutes.

For Fall 2021, ASC Drop-In Advising is offered starting Tuesday, August 24, and ending on Wednesday, November 17.  There will be no ASC Drop-In offered Tuesday, October 5 of NC State’s Fall Break.

  • Go to the Academic Success Center located on the 2nd floor of D.H. Hill Library on North Main Campus during the days/times listed above.
  • Check-in with the ASC Front Desk staff and state you are here to see an academic advisor for drop-in advising. Please bring your NC State Student ID and a laptop, tablet, or smartphone. You can borrow technology from the D.H. Hill Ask Us Desk.
  • While waiting for the start of your appointment, you’ll be asked to do a quick check-in survey for assessment purposes.
  • The advisor on duty will meet you at the front desk and take you to a meeting room for your appointment.
